Truth be told, this character was rejected in the drawing-board stage of development for KOF 2003.
(He was originally drafted for the purpose of becoming ¡ÈRon¡Çs daughter¡É¡Ä)
But looking through past materials, the artist in charge of the character found this background illustration. It appears it hit the artist¡Çs fancy and at his strong insistence he became a mid-level boss. A magazine illustration in a magazine provided the impetus.
Owing to his sweet appearance and rough talk, along with his overwhelming ¡Èmoves,¡É he earned quite a following after the game was released.
Shion was sucked into the vortex of another dimension, but his fate still remains unknown. I wonder if he¡Çll ever return.
